Tuesday, January 7

Zydeco it up with C.J. Chenier & The Red Hot Louisiana Band at Eddie’s Attic! Boogie down to Woof’s for a Retro Video Jukebox party! Get your Americana fix with Clark Ashton at Blind Willies! Experience the glow of the Atlanta Botanical Garden‘s annual electrical extravaganza shining nightly through Jan. 11! Jam it up with Joe Gransden and his jazz jam session at Venkman’s! Hula on down to Waller’s Coffee Shop for a Ukulele Jam! Get the blues with J.T. Speed at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack! And as always, groove on down with Swami Gone Bananas at the Northside Tavern!

Wednesday, January 8

Get horrorific and make your way to SCADShow for their Monsters & Metaphors: The Art of the Horror Genre event, featuring a discussion with documentary filmmaker Alexandre Phillipe (78/52), followed by a screening of his MEMORY: THE ORIGINS OF ALIEN (2019), at 5:30pm! Wussy Wednesdays (WUSSY MAG) return to The Plaza Theater with a screening of Emile Ardolino’s SISTER ACT (1992) at 7pm! Get old-timey with Bernadette Seacrest at Waller’s Coffee Shop! Celebrate The King and catch a screening of Denis Sanders’s ELVIS: THAT’S THE WAY IT IS (1980) at theatres across Atlanta [Northlake Festival Movie Tavern (Tucker); GTC Merchant’s Walk Cinemas (Marietta); Movie Tavern at Horizon Village (Suwannee); and The Springs Cinema & Taphouse (Sandy Springs)! A1A pays tribute to Jimmy Buffet at City Winery! Stomp on down to Eddie’s for a night with Ward Davis and Charles Wesley Godwin! Experience the glow of the Atlanta Botanical Garden‘s annual electrical extravaganza shining nightly through Jan. 11! Get some rhythm and soul and rock ‘n’ roll with Art Holliday at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack! The Highlander rocks out with their Punk/Metal/New Wave Karaoke Night, every Wednesday! It’s a night of old-time country and western swing at Red Light Café with The VaudeVillians, Richard Smith and Kevin Ward! Or stomp on down to Waller’s Coffee Shop for a night with Auction House Letters and Chickens & Pigs! Zoso pays tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Variety Playhouse! Make your way to Buteco for a night with Heather Luttrell & The Possum Den! Get down to Venkman’s for Laugh Tracks & Fanny Packs: A Night of Eighties Music & Comedy featuring Members Only! RITUAL presents their Steampunk Party at Heretic! Get rocked at City Winery with Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven! Or get countrified with Patrick Davis at Eddie’s Attic! Runaway Gin pays tribute to Phish at the Masquerade! The Wax Throwbacks pay tribute to old-school hip hop at Tin Roof Cantina! Freebird pays tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd at The Vista Room! Boogie on down to 529 for their Underground BritPop, UK Indie, New Wave Dance Party! Spend the evening with Celine Dion at State Farm Arena! Funk it up with Risky Biscuit at Tin Roof Cantina! Spend the night with The Pour Downs at Waller’s! The Rainmen deliver a night of ‘60s and ‘70s rock ‘n’ roll at the Northside Tavern! Get the blues with the Kerry Hill Band at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack! And as always, DJ Romeo Cologne and DJ Kwasi Mandisco transforms the sensationally seedy Clermont Lounge into a ’70s disco/funk inferno late into the wee hours of the night.

Every first and third Mondays are Big Band Nights at Café 290, featuring Joe Gransden and his amazing 16-piece orchestra playing jazz and swing standards in the tradition of The Glen Miller Orchestra and other legendary groups.  Second and fourth Mondays are Bumpin the Mango, ‘The groove that makes you want to move!’

Every first Wednesday is the Graveyard Tavern’s Graveyard Swing Night, featuring the swingin’ jazz and boogie-woogie sounds of the Savoy Kings!
